SUPPORTING RECREATION
Every year there are 370 million visits to Corps operated lakes. Visitors come to boat, swim, fish, camp, hike, or just to spend quality time with their families. Most of them will have driven an hour or less from a major city to reach their favorite Corps lake. These water based recreation experiences enrich people’s lives and strengthen family ties.
Recognizing the importance of these recreational opportunities to the health and happiness of Americans, the Corps Foundation works diligently to assist the Corps of Engineers in providing a quality recreation experience. The Foundation, with the help of members, contributors and partners, works to improve the variety and quality of facilities to meet the increasing demand for recreation.
