WATER SAFETY EDUCATION

The goal of the Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns campaign is to reduce water-related casualties on our nation’s waters by increasing life jacket wear. The campaign primarily targets adult men, between the ages of 20 and 60, because based on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) statistical trends they are the highest risk group. We would like to thank all USACE employees, volunteers, and partners who help promote this life-saving, year-round campaign.

The Corps Foundation helped develop the Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns campaign in cooperation with the USACE National Operations Center (NOC) for Water Safety. The Corps Foundation supported the campaign with over $1.7 Million through Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund grants, administered by the U.S. Coast Guard from 2014-2025.  Campaign promotional advertising and products developed with assistance from the USACE NOC for Water Safety included video public service announcements (PSAs), audio PSAs, and graphic artwork for posters, banners, and tailgate wraps for trucks.  The campaign continues to be promoted by USACE and campaign materials are available for viewing and free downloading at PleaseWearIt.com.

Be sure to follow the Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns campaign at Please Wear It on Facebook and Instagram.
